Join us for an inspiring side event co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Energy of Cabo Verde, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Global Network of Regional Sustainable Energy Centers (GN-SEC), the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), and the Gender and Energy Compact (led by ENERGIA, GWNET, UNIDO, and SEforALL). This event will spotlight women’s leadership in advancing sustainable ocean-based economies, maritime transport, and coastal community resilience.
Engaging women and youth, alongside subject-matter experts and institutional stakeholders, the session will explore how inclusive, cross-sectoral collaboration and innovative solutions can accelerate gender equality and the achievement of SDG 14. Attendees will hear powerful stories of entrepreneurship, community-led marine conservation, gender-responsive marine policies, financial inclusion, education, and youth-led initiatives promoting inclusivity. The event will conclude with actionable recommendations to enhance inclusiveness in ocean energy initiatives—ensuring no one is left behind.
