The OSCE study “Advancing a Just Energy Transition in Central Asia – Women’s key role in the energy sector”, produced jointly with the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET), analyses the potential socio-economic benefits of gender-inclusive energy transitions in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Based on modelling, desk research, surveys, and interviews with regional and international experts, the study provides, for the first time, employment data projections for the energy transition in Central Asia and identifies concrete recommendations for the strategic development of an appropriately skilled labour force that harnesses the full potential of women’s participation and leaves no one behind.

At this webinar, OSCE and GWNET will present the main findings of the study and highlight the impacts of OSCE’s ongoing work to advance gender equality in the energy sector in Central Asia.
