Why advancing Women in Energy is so important
The energy transition is not only a technical transformation, but also a social one. For it to succeed in a socially equitable manner, we need research that incorporates diverse perspectives, experiences and needs. Energy equality therefore also means equality in research itself: who conducts research, which topics become visible and how knowledge is shared has a significant impact on the solutions we develop. In my work, I deal with energy communities, energy poverty, transparency and fairness in automated energy systems, as well as issues of participation and skills development. As an Equality Ambassador, I want to help make research more diverse, open and inclusive in order to shape an energy transition that benefits everyone.
